Installation using Google Tag Manager

How to install Flamingo using Google Tag Manager

Assuming you already have a Google Tag Manager account and have set up a container on your website, these instructions are to be used when adding the Flamingo installation script.

Important - As Google Tag Manager strips the Property ID when using the regular JavaScript installation, you will need to use the below script instead, which is different from the standard installation script.

  1. Choose the Custom HTML Tag type.
  2. Add a new Tag and use the following script. Wrapping it in <script> </script> tags.

  1. Add your Property ID. This is found on the Property Settings screen within your Flamingo account.
  2. Add the All Pages trigger to the tag in Google Tag Manager, or your custom rules if only wanting to monitor specific website pages or traffic.
  3. Save and publish your Google Tag Manager container.
  4. Visit your website and browse several pages. You will then see data in your Flamingo dashboard.

Note - Done correctly, your Google Tag Manager and firing rules should look like the below. With YOUR_PROPERTY_ ID changed to the correct Property ID from your Flamingo account.
